Redemption
Redemption is not always revenge. It can be perceived as revenge to a naive entity. The only thing common with them are just a couple of alphabets. One sets you free and the other binds you to a life full of consequences and regrets with guilt trips like a cherry on top.
"An eye for an eye only ends up making the whole world blind"
_Mahatma Gandhi
No holy scriptures or sayings teach the philosophy "eye for an eye". Rather it tells us to act out of spiritual love and do whatever that is best for the expression of ours and others spiritual love.
The world can be tricky and unfriendly place and not everyone has the best intentions. On the contrary, there are many good people who make mistakes every now and then. That person is not a bad person, it is just a part of our human nature. An ugly aspect of the human race is the act of revenge. Revenge occurs because of the inability to forgive. In some circumstances it may turn out to be a self forgiveness. Revenge is as bad as the original offense. Redemption is on the other hand, is getting a closure to something in a best possible outcome favouring your mental and physical well being. Living as you absorb the consequences of a revenge actually do not sound healthy. Forgiveness is not always 'I forgive you'. It is different in every situation, but in the end, forgiveness feels much better than revenge. If peace is what you crave, it must start within you.
There are many ways to tackle a mind from plotting a revenge. The one which most say effective would be the delaying of action method. Here you give yourself some time, like a day or a week or perhaps a year because if time can subside your anger, then it wasn't worth it, in the first place.
Imagine yourself at a beach, watching the sunset and enjoying the sensation of waves touching your feet. But the next one hits you off and drown you completely. You catch your breath back abruptly as you watch that wave pass away. Now you are on the ground and you see a new wave coming right at you. At this point is where you ask yourself would you rather get up or let it drown you? We as humans should learn the virtue of forgiveness and let that wave go and catch your next one, because after the dusk when things are starting to get stormy for you, always keep faith in time as it will teach you and bring you dawn where the tides are breezy.
" True redemption is seized when you accept the future consequences for your past mistakes. "
